CCEE student Vie Villafuerte wins 2022 Distinguished Goodnight Award

CCEE student Vie Villafuerte won the 2022 Distinguished Goodnight Award from NC State Goodnight Scholars Program.

The Distinguished Goodnight Award is presented at the end of the academic year to a graduating Goodnight Scholar from each cohort who best embodied the core values and mission of the Goodnight Scholars Program through significant involvement in the Goodnight Scholars and NC State communities, along with a dedication to professional development, civic engagement and scholastic achievement.

Villafuerte graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering and a minor in Wildlife Sciences (Class of 2022). While part of the Goodnight Scholars Program, Villafuerte served as an ambassador, communications assistant, Service Raleigh site leader and participated in the program’s NC Mountains to Coast service trip. Within the university, Villafuerte was a Sustainability Steward, president of the Global WaSH Student Chapter, and was selected to participate in the Women & Minority Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) in the NC State College of Engineering. Villafuerte will remain at NC State to pursue her Master’s in Environmental Engineering.
