U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Michael Regan, N.C. Gov. Roy Cooper and other federal and local officials stopped by Fitts-Woolard Hall for a tour of CCEE’s environmental labs and to discuss ongoing research in the department and around the university on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) on Monday, Oct. 18, 2021. The lab tour and discussion came after Regan unveiled the agency’s 26-page “PFAS Strategic Roadmap” on NC State’s Centennial Campus. The plan highlights about 40 proposed actions to assess the hazards of PFAS compounds through 2024.
