CCEE’s Spring Career Connections Is February 27 & 28!

Our CCEE career fair is your best opportunity to find an internship, find a job, and network with local employers! Be sure to save/star this email — it has important links, dates, and tips you can refer back to.

Steps for Success at Upcoming Career Fairs

Step 1: Mark your calendar for the in-person events

CCEE Career Connections: In person on Tuesday, February 27 and Wednesday, February 28 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in Duke Energy Hall at Hunt Library. No registration required for students; just show up and meet employers!

College of Engineering Career Fair: In-person on Tuesday, February 6 from 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the McKimmon Center. No registration required for in-person, just show up! There is no parking for students there, so plan to take the bus.

Step 2: Brush up your resume so you stand out!

Need help making a resume that shines? Attend “Writing Stellar Resumes” on Wednesday, February 14 from 3-4 p.m. in Fitts-Woolard Hall Room 3280. Can’t make it? Watch a recording of a resume workshop for CCEE students here.

Step 3: Research employers.

The secret to success at the career fair is to research ahead of time who is coming, what openings they have and carefully select what companies you want to talk with. Read more about being prepared for career fairs.

Step 4: Prepare for the fair by attending a CCEE-only workshop or getting help from the Career Development Center.

Attend “How to Ace the Career Fair” on Wednesday, February 21 from 3-4 p.m. in Fitts-Woolard Hall Room 3103 to learn all the essentials for having successful conversations with employers, whether you seek a full-time job or an internship. Undergraduates, graduate students, and postdocs are all welcome to attend. There will be an open Q&A session at the end.

Get help from the Career Development Center: Make an appointment in the Career Fair Plus app for Thursday, February 1 or get drop-in help with a counselor on Friday, February 5 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Career Development Center in Pullen Hall.

Step 5: Attend the career fairs!

Be sure to dress in business casual attire, bring paper copies of your resume, and practice your elevator speech. Good luck!
