Get your master’s degree from Engineering Online

CCEE at NC State University offers a wide selection of courses in multiple areas allowing you to pursue an accredited master’s degree, identical to the on-campus degree, in your chosen area of concentration. The degree programs are comprised of 30 credits of coursework with no thesis or research component required. We offer online sections of approximately 15 courses each semester. Pursuing your degree online allows you flexibility to study and learn in the place and time that work for you while allowing you support from faculty within the Department. You are encouraged to develop a rapport with the faculty even though you are not on campus.

Master of Civil Engineering

The Master of Civil Engineering (MCE) degree can be completed through Engineering Online. It is intended for graduate students who are interested in studies to prepare for professional careers in civil engineering.

Master of Environmental Engineering

The Master of Environmental Engineering (MENE) degree can be taken through Engineering Online. It is intended for graduate students who are interested in studies to prepare for professional careers in environmental engineering.

Admission Requirements

Prerequisites for admission to the MCE/MENE degree include an undergraduate degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution or its equivalent with an overall GPA of 3.0. The TOEFL or IELTS scores (no more than two years old) are required for international applicants unless they have completed one year of full-time study at a U.S. university. Enrollment in Engineering Online courses is contingent upon establishing and maintaining proper testing and proctoring mechanisms for each course. You must apply for admission to the MCE/MENE program online. When completing the online application, please be sure to select the “Distance Track” version of the degree.
